As Michael Schumacher took off to the track for his debut Formula 1 season in 1991, he sported a clean yet uniquely painted helmet that seamlessly blended his personal sponsor design with the iconic colours of the German flag – black, red, and gold. The noticeable blue top of the helmet was to resemble the colours of the sky, which perfectly matched the sunny conditions of the 1991 Belgian GP. Following his father’s legacy, Mick Schumacher honoured the first original helmet design on the day of the 30th anniversary of Michael’s first ever Grand Prix start. Sporting the same colour scheme during the 2021 Belgian GP, the distinguished helmet has come to a full circle.
